In this class, we will learn basic conversation signs in American Sign Language. We will also learn a song in ASL to perform for the Christmas Showcase.

Students will explore a wide variety of art forms while learning about the rich history behind them. From studying renowned painters like Vincent van Gogh and creating their own masterpieces, to exploring the world of playwriting and culinary arts, this hands-on journey through art history will be so much fun.

National Parks Study, Hannah Reynolds
A story based unit where you will be joining the Maydens (a family) on a road trip from sea to shining sea as we explore some of the most incredible national parks of North America. The perfect unit to lead up to camping, or give you a little extra indoor fun in the long, cold winter, kids of all ages are going to love this one.

Children will learn about our sun and the planets in our galaxy. Concepts like gravity and weight on planets and moons.

This class will not require outside reading, although we may work with whatever books they are currently reading. Activities will all be reading/writing/literature related, and include things like creative ways to do book reports/presentations, creative story writing games, creating comics, painting & poetry, experiencing various types of literature, and more!

This is the class most of us wish we could’ve taken in high school! It will prepare our students to have financial literacy, to be good stewards, and to live generously. We will be using Dave Ramsey’s high school curriculum, which is supposed to be awesome. I am so excited to be teaching your students this fall!

We will be using The Good and The Beautiful Stones and Bones curriculum to help us learn about dinosaurs, rocks, volcanoes, fossils & much more! We’re going to read, discuss, analyze, and share our opinions of (hilarious) picture books in classroom discussions as we build all kinds of literary analysis skills the fun way! Laughter and learning guaranteed.
Fine print for parents: In this class, students will analyze how literary elements and devices (such as alliteration, allusion, foreshadowing, symbolism, personification, point of view, characterization, theme, plot, setting, and so on) contribute to the meaning of a text, explore perspective and author’s purpose, and practice providing evidence from the text to support their arguments in class discussions. We will summarize and paraphrase, discuss the main idea and theme of a text, and analyze details to support our arguments about the text. We will do all this through reading and discussing picture books, and have a great time doing it! This class meets many elements of the following Oklahoma Academic Standards for 6th grade ELA, in case that's helpful to know:
