Enrollment for Performing Arts Workshop FALL 2026 is CLOSED.
All PAW families need to be familiar with our PAW Guide below. Signing up means that you agree to these rules and guidelines.
As our program grows, our management needs grow too. Throughout the semester, PAW parents will be asked to help with crowd control, running lines, rehearsal cleanup, props, and costume items.
Assume that if your child is in the show, you will be asked to help in some way!
Keep up with PAW news in the PAW GroupMe chat and in weekly emails that will go out over the weekend after co-op.
PAW fees are $15 per student, and are due by the first day of classes, Sept 3rd.
Below is a link to our Venmo. You will have to enter the amount, according to the number of students you are registering, as well as your name and what the payment is for. For example, "Susan Haines PAW fees."
We are going to put our own twist on the story of the beloved Grinch. Watch as he gets dropped off at an orphanage, grows up watching other who-children get adopted, becomes bitter about family holidays, and eventually leaves the orphanage, settling in as a grumpy old Grinch on Mount Crumpit.
Who-ville will be a fun, Christmas-y place with lots of fun characters, props, and music. Narrations will hark back to the Dr. Seuss book, and we will give appropriate nods to our favorite parts of the Grinch movies
AUDITION MATERIALS FOR 8/24:
The next step is our PAW Retreat on Monday, August 24th, 1-3 pm, downstairs in the Chapel. This is REQUIRED DATE if you are enrolled.
We will begin by getting to know each other a bit, introducing the show, learning a few large group things together, and answering questions. Parents must remain on site. If you have smaller children participating, please stay in the Chapel itself.
After about 30 minutes, we will transition to auditions. Everyone who is enrolled will have something to do in the show. Those who want the opportunity to have a speaking part or solo or piano part, must stay to audition. If you are NOT auditioning, you are free to go.
There are 3 possible categories for auditioning, and students may choose just 1 or 2 or all 3. You may only receive 1 part, depending on interest, capability, and demand for parts.
Singing Auditions
If you are interested in a solo or other special singing part, please be prepared to sing the first verse of “Cold Snap” for us OR the first verse of “You’re a Mean One.”
Cold Snap = The first 33 seconds of either video linked below, which you can use to practice. One with vocals, one without.
You’re a Mean One = The first 27 seconds of the Practice Video and the first 43 seconds of the Accompaniment Track. Use these to practice. One with vocals, one without.
Have your verse memorized! Accompaniment track with no voices will be played in auditions.
Speaking Auditions
If you are interested in a speaking part, whether small or big, prepare one of the passages on the document linked below. Shorter ones are good for younger kids. But anyone is welcome to prepare any of these. Have your lines memorized!
We may ask you to read some additional lines on the spot, if we want to hear more.
Piano Auditions
If you are interested in a student piano spot in the show, you must prepare one of the pieces in the Drive Folder linked at the button below. These may be background music, transition music, pre-show music, or something similar. There are easy pieces and more advanced pieces. Print and practice what will work best for your student. Come prepared to play one or more at auditions. These do not have to be memorized.
